OVERVIEW

The Department of Commerce has absorbed the history of academic institutions pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation. The Department legitimately asserts and takes pride in being India’s top institution for developing course curricula, imparting instruction, and doing research in the field of commerce.
The Department offers M.Com in the PG stream and B.Com (Hons.) in the UG stream. It provides high-quality, reasonably priced, and professional education with the goal of developing graduate and postgraduate students who are highly effective and possess leadership skills.
The Department plays a pivot role in producing future corporate leaders. The emphasis is placed on developing the students into true leaders and team players as well as academically brilliant individuals by equipping them with the abilities needed to successfully integrate into the corporate world.
The Department has adequate well qualified, competent faculty who are dedicated to the academic and overall development of the student community.
The teaching highlights of the faculty are Learner- centric, ICT enabled, Project based, continuous assessment and comprehensive & realistic evaluation.
Henceforth, The Department moulds the students through a variety of academic and extracurricular activities in addition to traditional classroom instruction.

Prof (Dr.) Kavita Aggarwal

Professor

Prof. (Dr.) Kavita Aggarwal is an astute professional having more than 16 years of experience in teaching, administration, research, and training.
More than five research scholars have been awarded with Ph.D. degree under her supervision and currently five research scholars are pursuing Ph.D. under her guidance.
She has published more than 50 research papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science and UGC Care.
She heads various committees at institutional level such as NSS Program officer etc.

BRIEF-UP

The field of commerce deals with trading things of economic value between two or more entities, in other words, exchange of services or goods from a producer to the final consumer. Commerce education imparts the experience of the business world in all its manifestations. During this program, students will gain knowledge about stock markets, economic theory, finance, accounts and non-profit flows. It equips students with a number of specialized skills that help them excel in different functional areas of trade, industry and commerce.

FUTURE PROSPECT

Successful completion of M.Com opens up numerous career opportunities in national & international spheres, foreign banks, foreign insurance and globalization. Other lucrative career options are Civil Services, Indian Statistical Services, Indian Economic Service & teaching. This program serves as a basis for higher studies & research in the field like M.Phil & Ph.D degree in Commerce.
