OVERVIEW
M.P.T: M.P.T. Ortho-Physiotherapy is a postgraduate Orthopaedics course. Orthopaedic physical therapy includes treatment of the musculoskeletal system (which is made up of the muscles and bones of the body) that has been subject to injury or trauma. This includes sprains, strains, post fracture, post-surgery and repetitive injuries. The areas of the body include the neck and back as well the extremities. Orthopaedic surgeons use means of both, surgery and non-surgery to treat and cure musculoskeletal problems, injuries to sportspersons, degenerative diseases, infections, and tumours and congenital disorders. All the matters of muscles and bones in the human body are dealt with by orthopaedic surgeons or specialists. The course is beneficial in many areas like education and outside it.

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria of MPT (Ortho) is that students have to complete undergraduate (BPT) from a recognized institute.
Future Prospect of the Course: Candidates can join jobs in government and private dental institutions, attachment with hospitals, polyclinics, multi-specialty clinics, Private practice, defence services, and healthcare panels of different companies. The course helps to relieve your muscle and joint pain, improve your muscle strength, quality of movement and activities of daily living. It is also beneficial for further research studies such as Ph.D. etc. It is helpful in suffering from paralysis, spondylosis, arthritis, back pain and other similar ailments then you should consult Physiotherapist. The course is beneficial to provide relief of the pain or stiffness of orthopaedics or muscular-skeletal complaints, and help if you have acute or chronic joint pain, have joint stiffness or poor mobility, have arthritis, require a joint replacement, have acute or chronic back or neck pain and helps to assists the medical service in dealing with different aspects of treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of disorders utilizing exercise and electrotherapy procedures.After completion of course, students can take up the teaching profession after the completion of their masters and join as lecturers in colleges and universities. The students who are interested in research then can join the Ph. D. courses and continue to research.
