OVERVIEW
Botany is a branch of biological science that focuses on the study of plants and how they survive and interact with other living and nonliving components of the environment. It is an advanced research course which focuses on the development of methods, techniques, schemes and theories in the field of botanical science. The subject matter is delved into research work to find, formulate and devise new ideas and theories in botany with an introduction to new methods and techniques along with renovation to the old methods. Ph.D. in Botany course is the study of science life and a branch of biology and involves observation of living plants, and their relationship with nature. In the Department of Life Sciences, the students can pursue their research specializations in various the discipline of botany including Taxonomy, Physiology, and anatomy of plants and their life processes. and other fields of botany. Students are supervised by at least one member of the academic staff who is an expert in the student’s field of study. Supervisors support students in developing an independent and novel project in their field of interest. Students will learn how to review relevant literature, to phrase and answer scientific questions, and to report their findings to the scientific community, at conferences and through peer-reviewed scientific publications. The students are encouraged to get experience in undergraduate teaching, which can be either as demonstrators during practical classes or supervisors teaching small groups. At the end of each semester students are required to pass a semester wise assessment, based on a detailed progress report examined by Research advisory committee.

    • The student has obtained at the end of every semester SGPA of at least 4.5 for Diploma & under graduate courses and SGPA 5.0 for post graduate courses. (For M.Pharm, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, B.Pharm (Practice) Courses, SGPA will be 5.0).
    • The student has obtained a minimum CGPA of 5.00 for Diploma & under graduate courses and CGPA 5.5 for post graduate courses.
    • The student has not taken more time than specified for completion of the course.
    • Student has satisfied all the rules of evaluation.
    • No case of indiscipline or unfair means is pending against the student.
    • No dues are pending against the student.
