About The Department
Department of Physical Sciences came into existence in the year 2014 under University School of Sciences. Department aspires to be a foremost centre for learning nationally and internationally through the pursuit of Academic excellence & admirable research in biological sciences; by promoting innovation and entrepreneurial skills, critical thinking and scientific temper & by focusing on Holistic development of individuals. It provides optimum platform for students to realize their true potential and to sharpen up their scientific skills. The department strives to build up academic aptitude for leadership in knowledge propagation specially in Research and Development.Research Scholars (at Masters & Doctorate Levels) get congenial learning ambience & well-Equipped Laboratories to develop their intellectual, academic and Scientific skills through practical training. The highly qualified and well experienced faculty is nourishing the scientific and intellectual needs of the students by providing them practical & project-based learning. The department also endeavours to create awareness among students & masses for sustainable development by adopting various systematic approaches for Scientific Activities.

It is a beautiful campus and is an excellent place. I believe the facilities here can definitely be ranked among the top 10 Universities in the country. There are nice arrangements for accommodation at the hostel with lots of food choices. The campus is ragging free. I enjoy the rigorous lectures provided by our faculty members. I put my first step in RBU with the same hope, and all my dreams are coming true with the support and guidance of faculty members. I am fortunate to be part of it.

Overall the Department of Physics at Rayat Bahra University, Mohali is a nurturing ground for budding physicists. It offers a dynamic and enriching educational experience. I found the way to pursue my summer internship at Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) from this department only and that is the big ream has come true.

I am pursuing B.Sc. in Physical Sciences in Department of Physics Rayat Bahra University, Mohali. I must say teachers in this Department are the best. They are professionals and have depth understanding of subjects. The HOD of the Department is very knowledgeable and supportive person. The Curriculum is nicely designed and balanced to equip the students as per the latest techniques of the skills. The Department has good infrastructure and also provide Wi-Fi for students and well-developed library with physics, chemistry and computer Laboratory. The Classrooms are quite big and spacious. I consider myself lucky that I choose Rayat Bahra University to pursue my B. Sc. Degree.
